Protocol Specialist - EPS & Worker's Comp

Xpress Wellness Urgent Care is seeking a Protocol Specialist - EPS & Work Comp to join our team. The Protocol Specialist is responsible for many functions in RCM. You will work closely with healthcare providers, employers, and clinics to ensure that patients receive necessary treatment and facilitate a smooth and efficient process.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and updates new companies in Experity for Xpress and Integrity Urgent Care.
  • Responsible for updating all EPS charges.
  • Contacts Employers and Worker Compensation companies for any missing or incomplete information.
  • Clinics liaison for any EPS questions or issues.
  • Efficiently process incoming paperwork utilizing department resources as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of department policies and protocols.
  • Ability to stay focused and perform job duties efficiently and accurately.
  • Responsible for maintaining workload balance, ensuring maximum efficiency, eliminating rework, and reducing cost.
  • Participate in meetings, conference calls and training sessions, including Management Meetings, Team Meetings, as well as any meetings while working telecommute during assigned daily work schedule.
  • May receive incoming telephone calls and resolve issues communicated.
  • Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • As part of the RCM team there will be additional duties and tasks asked to help complete projects as well. Other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.
  • High School diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 12 months experience in Medical Billing, Medical Collections, or Medical Billing Systems.
  • Experience with traditional insurance plans, HMO/PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid and Worker's Comp.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
