Your key responsibilities:
Functionally lead and ensure the implementation of a Field Medical organization which is highly customer-oriented and operates patient centrically. Guide and influence the development of local MSL plans and ensure alignment with Regional/Global plans, and other functions/Franchises within the CPO. Close partnership with TA Leads in local MSL objective setting and support assessment.
Ensuring effective and compliant field medical activity across all therapy areas of the medical organization
Day-to-day matrix leadership of the field medical organization, providing guidance, advice, direction and resolving or escalating operational issues
Ensure the development and execution of strategically aligned field medical plans and aligned MSL objectives
Work closely with Global/International and Regional/Cluster Medical Affairs to both shape and understand the strategic direction for Novartis field medical and translate that to the field medical organization
What you’ll bring to the role:
MD, PhD, or PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree in health care.
Experience in the global pharmaceutical industry, of which 5 years with strategic inclusive leadership role in pharmaceutical or biotech industry with preference in Medical Affairs and/or Development.
Preferred prior experiences in MSL role with demonstrated success strongly preferred.
Demonstrated people management skills in mid-size to larger groups.
Proven competence in developing strategic capabilities in a country.
Superior matrix leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach and manage field-based scientific/medical professionals regardless of structural authority.
Language: very strong communication skills in German and English

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary. For this position the minimum salary is € 82.000/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
