Your new role

As our new Groundwater Sustainability Expert, you will take a leadership role in our team of subject matter experts leading geophysical surveys, basin characterization, and groundwater modeling in California and the western United States.

As our new Groundwater Sustainability Expert, you will work with the project team to deliver solutions to our clients. You will be part of the Water department in the U.S. You will work as part of a lively team, filled with people who are really excited about creating the water management options of the future. Our team is vibrant, innovative, international, and supportive. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in defining and delivering projects that involve global clients. Our team is known in Ramboll for being especially good at celebrating project milestones and colleague birthdays, so you can expect to join for lots of celebrations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team in groundwater and hydrologic concepts and support to stakeholders, including government agencies, water districts, environmental organizations, and community groups
  2. Identify and pursue business opportunities; prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and technical documents summarizing findings, recommendations, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  3. Lead team in development of 3D hydrogeologic conceptual models as well as use of advanced groundwater modeling software to simulate groundwater flow, assess aquifer sustainability, and forecast future groundwater conditions, incorporating variable climate scenarios.

About you

  • Bachelors degree in hydrogeology, geology, geophysics or related engineering discipline with 15+ years experience in groundwater. Advanced degree highly desirable.
  • Licensure as a professional hydrogeologist, professional geologist, or related professional engineer discipline in the state of California or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Expert familiarity with California water regulations and laws, including development of groundwater sustainability plans in compliance with state and local regulations, including the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) in California
  • Demonstrated business development and leadership capabilities
  • Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics, and a proven history leading project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations and supporting project teams

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual rate between $151,000. And $189.000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
