Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and respiratory manager, is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. One year of hospital experience preferred. 2. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.3. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care.4. Current Nevada State Respiratory Care Practitioner license required5. Current BLS (AHA) required. 6. ACLS (AHA) certification required within 90 days of hire for Adult area only.7. Blood Gas Technologist Licensed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services within 90 days of hire. 8. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills, and computer literacy required. 9. High level of analytical ability required in preparing care plans, implementing effective treatment regimens, and developing solutions to complex issues concerning patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. 10. Requires ability to work in an area characterized by a high need for critical thinking, constant attention to detail and frequent interruptions.11. Position requires ability to take call and fulfill call rotation/on-call duties and responsibilities.
