Smith Micro develops software to simplify and enhance the mobile experience, providing solutions to leading wireless service providers and cable MSOs around the world. Our solutions enrich today’s connected lifestyles while creating new opportunities to engage consumers via smartphones and consumer IoT devices.


This is a hybrid internship position set to begin in late May or June, lasting for 12 weeks. Summer interns will work 30-40 hours per week, with three (3) days in the office.


This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product management at a fast-growing tech company. As Product Management Intern at Smith Micro, you will gain exposure to setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the roadmap set by the team to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the product.



What you will do:
  • Gain familiarity in providing vision and direction to the development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements.
  • Help refine product vision, AI roadmap, and growth opportunities.
  • Support the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.
  • Gain an understanding in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Client Goals.
  • Conduct research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product.


What you will need:
  • Located within 20 miles of the office with reliable transportation to work in-office three (3) days weekly.
  • Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to balance high-level product strategy with executional details.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a business environment.
  • Ability to think critically about product features, roadmap prioritization, and market needs.
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn and contribute to team success.
