Job Description

As a Smiths Detection intern, you will have the opportunity to be working side-by-side with highly skilled individuals dedicated to making the world a safer place through technology innovations. Our intern assignments are designed to allow you to experience, first-hand, the type of work we do within Smiths Detection. As an intern, you can make an impact on the business as well as continue to build your analytical, technical and leadership skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • The selected intern will working with a Program Manager. (or Supervisor) and will:

    • Develop/maintain methods for tracking and reporting program status and contract deliverables
    • Provide support in creating / modifying procedures and or processes
    • Provide support to Program Management team to include, assisting in project scheduling and coordination
    • Provide support to Program Managemet team collecting, analyzing, and reporting on program cost and schedule metrics

Qualifications

Education: Degree-track undergraduate or graduate student in Business Management or Engineering discipline.

Experience:  Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) experience required.

Knowledge skills/other attributes:

  • A passion to promote the Health and Safety of self and others and minimize impacts to our environment
  • Sound communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Inquisitiveness and a desire to learn and apply new-found knowledge
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Motivated, focused, proactive, and results-oriented
  • US Citizen preferred; ability to pass a background check and security vetting required

The compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 - $35.00/hr and will vary depending on factors including level of school completed and type of position requirements for skills, whether technical or non-technical.  We are committed to ensuring our interns are fairly compensated for their valuable contributions.
