Veolia Nuclear Solutions Federal Services is looking for a Project Manager with experience in design and implementation of Fire System Projects. In this position professionals will lead projects that develop fire protection system design (fire alarm/reporting, suppression, passive features, e.g. fire barriers, dampers, doors), prepare specifications, and support construction installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing to meet local and national codes, standards, and DOE requirements. Project Managers in this area should also have experience in developing plans and specifications for new or modified fire protection systems, preparing fire hazard analysis and life safety analysis, developing/updating fire protection programs in accordance with DOE O 420.1C, performing facility fire protection assessments, preparing fire protection functional design criteria and requirements, and reviewing/approving submittals for fire protection detailed design during engineering support to Construction. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual who possesses the ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment using excellent communication and time management skills. In addition, Project Managers will lead and develop proposals, form project teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Opportunities and develop capture proposals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Form and lead multidiscipline design teams to deliver detailed designs.
  • Manage Projects including schedules and budges and interfaces with clients including project reporting.
  • Review and evaluate customer design criteria and interpreting and applying design codes and standard to ensure design products conform to approved design criteria.
  • Develops and applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in Project Management.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for management of projects.
  • Lead multiple projects of moderate size simultaneously.

Qualifications

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with demonstrated fire protection experience
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering & project management
  • 5+ years of experience in support of nuclear facilities or designs
  • DOE (LANL, SNRS, IEC or Hanford) Experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national codes and standards such as IBC and NFPA, plus DOE fire protection requirements per DOE O 420.1C and DOE-STD-1066.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management Principles (EVMS, Scheduling, Budgeting, Accruals, and invoicing)
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills as well as excellent computer skills that are relevant to job applications.   (Microsoft Suite including Projects, Primavera)

Desired Qualifications   

  • Experience with Federal Projects within the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.
  • Execution of DOE O 413.3B Projects
  • Hanford, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), and/or National Nuclear Security Site (NNSS) experience.

  • Accountable to the Engineering Director for project performance
  • Develop Technical and Cost Proposals.
  • Develop Project Plans and execute assigned projects on schedule and budget
  • Support engineering staff in planning and execution of work
  • Interacts with clients, customers, officials and contractors
    • Deliver scope on time, on budget and in accordance with expectations, including delivery in a safe and secure manner
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
