Job Description

The Associate Director, Field Training has primary responsibility to partner with Leaders across AbbVie’s portfolio of businesses to help diagnose needs and develop solutions that support skill development across market access competencies to create a world class Market Access organization. This role is responsible for leading channel and product portfolio strategy for specific franchises and brands, ensuring brand strategy is effectively represented in all training programs and solutions. The role requires an elevated approach to adult learning; tailoring execution, and application to Associate Director & Director level field members. The position will rely on the ability to create, lead, and work within cross-functional teams made of participants from Market Access Leadership (Directors, GMs, VPs), Analytics & Business Insights, Performance Operations, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Office of Ethics & Compliance, HEOR, Agency Relations, Business HR, and other internal/external partners.  Must be adept at cross-functional collaboration with ability to effectively communicate with all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively across franchises to gain stakeholder input, align to the business strategies and deliver programs to elevate the effectiveness of US Commercial Market Access.
  • Thinks strategically with the business planning skills necessary to diagnose needs, develop, direct, and influence commercial training and development strategies.
  • Demonstrates exceptional stakeholder communication skills to develop partnerships across all areas, channels, and levels of the organization.
  • Manages, models and builds strong and credible partnerships and networks, with AbbVie partners and industry experts.
  • Lives AbbVie’s core values every day, with a focus on the patient as the North Star.
  • Leads pipeline of inventive, enduring and innovative training experiences and approaches to skill development and knowledge acquisition.
  • Leads World Class Onboarding initiatives for new hires in Market Access, requiring detailed project planning, effective relationship building with leaders across the organization, content co-creation with subject matter experts, program execution with facilitation of training sessions, and program modifications based on evaluations/program feedback.
  • Has a passion for driving excellence with a focus on performance results that foster accountability within self, US Performance Operations, and stakeholders.

Continually looks to evolve and elevate Market Access within the organization by integrating training and development industry leading best practices, key business trends, brand strategies, and marketplace drivers into development plans that drive competitive advantage to the organization.

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S./Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field degree required. MBA not required, but desirable
  • 7+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 3+ years of Market Access experience highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment, managing stakeholder relationships of VPs, GMs, and Directors
