Banking Operations Associate
Acorns is seeking a Banking Operations Associate to oversee daily risk operations for our Banking product. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Sr. Banking Operations Manager. The Banking Operations Associate will serve as a subject matter expert on our core processing admin platform, supporting customer experience enhancements, managing customer risk communications, conducting risk account reviews and suspicious activity investigations, and contributing to various operational projects as assigned.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA.
What you will do at Acorns:
Conduct thorough reviews and inquiries on identified and suspicious customer bank accounts within the specified systems
Analyze and review potentially fraudulent activity, to ensure minimal loss to the organization and Acorns customers
Respond promptly and exercise exceptional communication skills to optimize each contact with customers, partners, and external vendors/banks
Enter and maintain accurate case detail notes for all alerts received and report the type of fraud on each occurrence
Assist other internal Acorns teams with questions related to locked accounts and suspicious activity
Complete account closure reviews
Proactively identify process improvement opportunities within your scope and develop creative solutions
Ensures compliance with company standards and processes to increase production and accommodate work volumes toward enhanced customer satisfaction
Ability to be flexible with working hours
What you will bring to Acorns:
BA/BS degree required
1-3 years of banking/operations experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to problem solve and provide solutions
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, but unafraid to ask questions
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Driven to learn fast, be creative, and win as a team
Experience working in an Agile environment or prior start-up experience is strongly preferred
Experience working in a fintech environment preferred

Compensation Information:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $68,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
