Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for ensuring that all firm orders, e-books and print, are processed in a timely and cost effective manner. Order Maintenance and Claiming and documenting workflow and statistics are part of the duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the primary duties of the position.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the nature and function of libraries, library services, standards, and procedures; of bibliographic tools and records, publishing and publication formats and library information storage and retrieval systems.
- Skill in interpreting and applying library policies, and procedures and explaining technical material such as local and national library standards and rules; in using a computer terminal to input and retrieve information; in resolving library technical support problems; in alphabetic and numeric filing; in communicating effectively; in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with library users and staff.
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks; supervise and train subordinate personnel; and organize work involving conflicting demands.

- Minimum of two years experience in an acquisitions unit.
- Experience with acquisition practices and procedures.
- Experience in book trade and publishing practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in financial operations and procedures such as: accounting, accounts payable, disbursements, and billing is highly desirable.
- Experience with Windows functionality on personal computers for word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and library-integrated management systems.
- Working experience in Microsoft office and Google Suite.

Required to handle books, lift book boxes up to 30lbs, as well as, push loaded book carts.
