Action is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our accounting and finance operations.


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting. Responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the company, including the production of weekly, monthly and annual financial reports, maintenance of accounting records and development of policies and procedures to facilitate all accounting related functions. Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Oversee the flow of all financial information from the initial transaction through completed financial statements.


Schedule: Monday – Friday; hybrid schedule

Compensation: 175K – 200K + comprehensive benefits package


Duties

Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Provide detailed variance analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Ensure the company complies with all state, federal, and applicable international laws and regulations for financial and tax reporting, including periodic bank reporting and federal surveys.

Monitor, manage, and forecast the company’s cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimal capital allocation.

Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term business strategies.

Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Support strategic initiatives and business growth through data analysis and financial planning.

Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the organization.

Oversee the AP/AR functions, including client billing, to ensure timely payments and collections.

Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities. Implement effective internal controls and financial procedures.

Lead, mentor, manage, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.

Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any financial discrepancies or risks.

Establish, maintain, and document financial policies and procedures for the organization.

Coordinate audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and accessible.

Work with third-party firms to Manage tax strategy, planning, and compliance to minimize liabilities.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Leverage technology and best practices to streamline financial processes and reporting. Overseeing the selection and implementation of financial software and systems.


Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a preference for experience in a privately held company.

Experience in a property management environment, standard costs, and basic variance analysis is strongly preferred.

Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic planning, and organizational skills.

Excellent leadership, team building and decision-making abilities.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Must be well organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and possess a strong work ethic.

Must have a high energy level and be a self-starter.

High level of adaptability to pivot and meet changing priorities.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Technical savvy – interest in learning and implementing new technology

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Proficient in using QuickBooks accounting software.

Strong skills in financial report writing with attention to detail.

Familiarity with various financial software tools for efficient data analysis.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
