Payroll Specialist

A leading luxury home building company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team! This is a temp-to-perm onsite role in San ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-state workforce. This role requires strong mathematical skills, proficiency in payroll software (preferably ADP Workforce Now), and a deep understanding of payroll best practices and compliance. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with the HR and finance teams to process payroll transactions, maintain records, and address employee inquiries while staying up to date on payroll laws and regulations.• *Please note this position is an on-site, temp-to-perm role in San Ramon. The annual pay will be $70-85k.**Key Responsibilities:• Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll accurately, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.• Ensure timely approval of timesheets and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.• Review and validate weekly changes such as new hires, status changes, and pay adjustments in ADP.• Manage and reconcile payroll deductions, including benefits like HSA, FSA, and commuter benefits.• Maintain payroll records and reports for compliance and audit purposes.• Address payroll-related employee inquiries and collaborate with HR to resolve issues.• Process 401(k) contributions through the third-party vendor system.• Support year-end payroll activities and create ad-hoc reports as needed.• Provide training to employees on time and attendance systems.• Stay informed on federal and state payroll laws to ensure compliance.Qualifications:• 4+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.• Strong Excel skills, including creating pivot tables and using intermediate functions.• Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws.• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.• Ability to process payroll on an as-needed basis.• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.• Familiarity with payroll compliance, recordkeeping, and audit processes.Please submit your resume for immediate consideration!You can use www.workgrades.com to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose.
