Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department at Colorado State University is recognized both national and internationally for its education, research, and service and outreach programs, and is ranked in the top 40 of such programs in the USA. The CEE Department consists of 36 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 16 research scientists/scholars, 27 research associates, and 11 administrative professionals. The One Water Solutions Institute (OWSI) in the CEE department, provides world-class research and innovation technologies to promote collaboration between CSU and outside partners such as local governments, private sector/industry members and non-profit organizations. OWSI is home to several national research centers and programs with specific efforts underway to address a variety of water sustainability challenges. Position Summary
This position provides organizational support to the Colorado State University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and One Water Solutions Insitute programs by performing essential project coordination and administrative duties including but not limited to development of communications materials and processes to efficiently streamline organization of relevant project materials such as budgets, technical or progress reports, electronic materials including web content, grant proposals and contracts; coordination of in-person and hybrid events (e.g., conferences, workshops, meetings) including onsite programming, catering arrangements, schedule coordination, travel, event registrations and other associated logistics; purchasing and payment processing and other financial duties as assigned.

This is a full-time administrative professional position located on our Fort Collins campus with a full benefits package; including 10 paid holidays, 24 accrued vacation days, and 15 accrued sick leave days per year, enrollment in group health, life and accident insurance, retirement plan options, work injury benefits, disability insurance, and additional opportunities such as free employee study privilege credits. Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the position’s essential duties
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft office suite with emphasis on Word, Excel, OneDrive and PowerPoint or similar presentation program(s)
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Strong organizational, communication and editorial skills including technical copyediting
  • Experience with Colorado State University systems related to budgets, financial accounts, purchasing, and human resources (or comparable university/institutional systems).
  • Knowledge of or ability to utilize Kuali Financial System or other related financial system
  • Experience and/or ability to interpret and implement CSU and department purchasing policies
  • One year of experience with financial management (bookkeeping, reconciliation, database management, etc.) that can occur simultaneous with general clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience preparing invoices, purchase orders and reimbursement requests
  • Communications:
    • Website development, curation and administration knowledge or skills
    • Basic advertisement development for events and/or job postings
    • Experience with social media posting for project outreach
