Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Remediation team in our Conshohocken, Pennsylvania office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong business development skills to drive growth and expand our market presence.

The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities.  The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
  • Manages more complex clients and projects.
  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
  • Use scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems within a defined scope.
  • Plan, execute, analyze and report on environmental investigations in natural systems.
  • Prepare technical science-based work plans, data summaries, and reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Apply knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to explain observations

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a drug screen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Geology, Engineering or related degree.
  • Professional Geologist or Engineer
  • 7+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
  • Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.
  • Experience as a project manager and technical lead on remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight.
  • Experience delivering remedial projects within the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection framework.
  • Strong understanding of remediation system design, cost estimating, construction, and OM&M.
  • Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, etc.
  • Remedial/Site investigation, remediation planning, or design experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management, and an individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
  • Cost estimating and basic fate and transport modeling.
  • Project Management Professional certification
