Job Description

AECOM Mexico is seeking a Business Line Manager- Transportation Sector for immediate employment in the Mexico City, Mexico office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Uses his/her Commercial Skills to carry on all project-win process (Prospect, Business Development, Bid, Proposal, Booking)
  • Takes advantage of his/her networking in Mexican Market to carry on the actions above
  • Technical understanding of transportation projects
  • Plans complex transportation projects, develop programs, establish, and manage procurement plans, working capital and financial performance.
  • Ensures that projects are executed according to plan
  • Becomes familiar with the operation of the business and with the economic commercial environment
  • Informs of any issues facing the business while anticipating and preventing unexpected situations
  • Operates as leader while also getting involved in the details of the work
  • Takes a proactive approach in helping the business to solve problems
  • Responsible for driving accounting interface to ensure timely and accurate preparation and upload of estimates at completion (EAC)
  • Validates the accuracy of revenue recognition at month end
  • Co-ordinates responses to client audit requests
  • Reviews significant project results and variances with the Project Accounting Team
  • Responsible for driving working capital management and reporting, through the achievement of cash flow objectives, engage in capital expenditures and seek to find cost effective solutions, to ultimately instill a culture of cash

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior position performing team management, project management, and business development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English (bilingual)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience to include at least 10 in a senior position performing team management, project management, and business development
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
  • Master’s degree or Diploma in Transportation Engineering
  • Knowledge of Mexican Transportation Market and relevant key stakeholders
  • Experience in rail, subway, ports, airports and other transportation projects is essential
  • 20+ years of experience to include at least 10 in a senior position performing team management, project management, and business development
  • Experience in highways and bridges and other similar infrastructures is a plus
  • Expertise in Project Management, Client and Customer Management
  • Must display evidence of good leadership, business partnering and influencing skills
  • Must feel comfortable participating both as an effective contributor and a listener in group settings which include senior staff
  • Capabilities to establish business partnerships and procure services required to deliver complex highway and other transportation projects
  • Must be able to develop, integrate and price proposals for Infrastructure projects, requesting specific support from technical teams when it could be needed
  • Knows the business and the Transportation technical and functional skills needed to do the job
  • Understands various types of business propositions and understands how businesses operate in general
  • Approaches the role with drive and energy with an eye on the bottom line
  • Not afraid to initiate action before all the facts are known
  • Is well organized and resourceful
  • Possesses a Strategic and Results-oriented thinking
  • Effective and efficient at coordinating multiple resources to get things done
