1st Shift - Machine Operator

Job Title: 1st Shift Machine OperatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our team. The working hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime (OT) of approximately 10-15 hours a week. Overtime hours are from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm, and candidates must be open to working on Saturdays when the business requires it.Responsibilities• Operate a slitter machine to slit continuous lengths of aluminum into strips of specified width.• Space rotary blades on the machine shaft according to the width specified for strips.• Mount a roll of material on machine supports and thread the material over the tension bar, between feed rollers, and under rotary blades.• Start the machine and observe the flow of material through the machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.• Move levers to stop, start, and regulate the speed of the machine and to align material with rotary blades.• Remove narrow rolls of material from the winding shaft.• Stack material on shelves according to width.Essential Skills• Strong tape measure reading skills• Slitter machine operating experience• General machine operating experience• Assembly experience• Manufacturing experience• Good work historyWork EnvironmentThis position is in a standard manufacturing shop that is fairly clean but can get dirty due to the metal shop environment.
