Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that enables Affirm to proactively adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying and addressing potential regulatory issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include advisory, training, independent testing & monitoring, reporting, escalation, and oversight. As a second line of defense, Compliance proactively partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, change management, issue identification, and remediation plans, assessment and monitoring of third parties, and provides trends and data to enable informed decision making, strengthen controls or provide for better treatment of consumer.
Affirm is seeking a Compliance Analyst to join its testing team in driving critical compliance management elements. In this role, the Compliance Analyst will support the assessment of compliance risks and controls. This includes providing assistance on internal reviews to ensure compliance with regulations, engaging business partners, and collaborating with management to achieve Compliance Testing Program objectives. This role will report to the Compliance Testing Manager and will be required to work independently and cross-functionally.
What you’ll do
Works with the lead tester to complete federal and state reviews, which consist of executing the testing phase of the Compliance Testing lifecycle with minimal management oversight.
Assist with the ongoing compliance testing activities on adherence to compliance program and federal/state regulatory requirements.
Deliver accurate, in depth, and well documented fieldwork and collaborate with the lead tester to define identified issues.
Work closely and cross functionally with multiple departments (Compliance, Risk, Legal Product, etc) while completing reviews.
Support a very fast paced business with tight deadlines while providing diligent and detailed work product.
Support other key compliance and risk management projects as needed.
What we look for
2+ years of professional work experience in Compliance Testing, Quality Assurance, or Audit preferred.
Experience working with consumer financial regulations and laws that impact Affirm’s business including BSA/AML, UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, Reg. E, Reg. P, Reg. B (ECOA) Reg. Z.
A self-starter that is proactive in proposing creative and effective solutions.
Inquisitive with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Google Workspace and internal operating systems.
Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
A strong curiosity about fintech and consumer finance.
Must be detail oriented, thorough, and well organized.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.

Min: $80,500
Mid: $92,600
Max: $104,600
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:
Min: $72,400
Mid: $83,300
Max: $94,200
