Overview


The Inventory and Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining demand forecasts and ensuring proper inventory levels for assigned supplier portfolios.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain demand forecasts, item attributes, and ship point attributes in Blue Ridge supply chain planning platform and ERP.
  • Collaborate frequently with Marketing team and suppliers to remain aware of pricing of pricing patterns and promotions, including monthly meetings to review forecast accuracy and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop strong relationships with supplier customer service contacts and local market managers.
  • Review buying multiples, ship point brackets, order cycles, and lead times on a regular basis.
  • Ensure vendor information is up to date in ERP.
  • Issue and track purchase orders.  Address shipping and receiving irregularities.
  • Review, approve, and issue purchase orders on a timely basis.
  • Check supplier confirmations to ensure accurate quantities and pricing.  Adjust purchase orders as necessary.
  • Track orders, maintain accurate ETAs, and proactively work to resolve issues caused by shipping delays.
  • Coordinate with Receiving and take corrective action when defective or incorrect goods are received.  File claims with suppliers, shippers, and insurance.
  • Achieve forecast accuracy, service level, and inventory turn targets.
  • Review KPIs regularly.  Identify root cause of deficiencies and put in place action plans to rectify.  Collaborate with department leadership and colleagues in Marketing as appropriate.
  • Research and identify issues with vendors.  Negotiate to achieve desired results for quality, price, and timetables.
  • Manage inventory in ERP.
  • Perform inventory adjustments, manage reserves of allocated items, and adjust combo inventory.
  • Collaborate with Operations team to resolve inventory discrepancies between ERP and WMS.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree, Supply Chain preferred
  • Preferred 2+ years purchasing experience/internships
  • Prior experience in beverage alcohol and/or wholesale 
  • Experience with Blue Ridge or similar purchasing tool
  • Comfort with MS Excel
  • Analytical mindset
  • Procurement/shipping knowledge
