Curriculum Developer

Compensation

ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high quality, affordable programs for our students. The starting salary range for this position is $65,000 plus all full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus. Offers vary depending on education prior experience and expertise being applied to the role.

Day to Day Responsibilities

In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:

  • Functions as a curriculum and instruction subject matter expert who advocates for the most current curriculum design theories/methodologies and ACE strategic goals required to deliver high-quality, engaging online courses for adult learners.
  • Collaborates with SMEs and eLearning Content Designers to develop curriculum documents and components required to produce a course, including course blueprints, scripts for course videos, and other learning activity and resource documents.
  • Supports department leaders, faculty members, and SMEs as they gather thorough, relevant, evidence-based, and aligned content required to develop courses by facilitating online training, written and oral communication, and feedback loops.
  • Uses a SME’s content to develop course materials that are aligned, evidence-based, current, factual, career-relevant, clear, and consistent.
  • Collaborates with other teams within the Curriculum Development and Production department to infuse innovation into courses and assure the quality ACE course components using established guidelines and checklists.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the curriculum and makes revisions based on SME feedback, data analyses, and changes in the college, program, and/or field.
  • Conducts academic research to fact-check SME-provided content and identify content gaps.
  • Uses project management software to coordinate project workflows, document the time required for projects and tasks, coordinate tasks with team members, facilitate SME payments, and cross-check program and course launch deadlines for on-time completion.
  • Selects appropriate channels to demonstrate positive, professional, and concise oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Uses storytelling and examples to reinforce learning.
  • Embraces continuous improvement processes, flexibility, solution-based critical thinking, self-reflection, and an overall growth mindset when facing challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrates expert composition skills to adapt writing for various purposes, tones, and audiences, showcasing skills in conducting research, copyediting transcripts for educational videos, proofreading, revising, editing, and applying the ACE and American Psychological Association style guides/manuals.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in higher education or K–12 education
  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum design and development
  • Quality Matters Rubric Application certification (or required to complete within first 4 months of • employment)
  • Experience in academic writing, proofreading, and copyediting across disciplines
  • Experience with a learning management systems (LMS)
