About the Position:

We are looking for a full-time Apartment Maintenance Technician for our lovely 255 unit apartment community in Burbank, CA. This position requires on-site residency, and a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit is included.

This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of our properties and ensuring tenant satisfaction. The Apartment Maintenance Technician will oversee property upkeep, from curb appeal and service requests to apartment turnovers and preventative maintenance, while collaborating with vendors and team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment buildings and grounds, including painting, plumbing, electrical, and yard work.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and property management staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Manage apartment turnovers and prepare units for new residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Adhere to safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the Property Manager or Supervisor.
  • Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Supervisor.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily or commercial properties.
  • Knowledge and skills in painting, plumbing, electrical work, yard, and general maintenance.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid California Driver's license required for property visits.
  • Availability for on-call emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with residents and vendors.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $26.00 per hour, 40 hours a week

Working Conditions:

The Apartment Maintenance Technician will work primarily indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to various weather conditions. The position may require working on weekends and holidays and may involve on-call duties.

Physical Requirements:

The Apartment Maintenance Technician must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. The position may require standing, walking, bending, twisting hands and kneeling for extended periods of time.

  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired
