Business Unit Controller

Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This role primarily focuses on fleet-related financial analysis and electric operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Business Unit General Manager (BU GM) and CFO to develop and manage budgets, conduct cost analysis, and provide financial reporting and forecasting. Additionally, the role involves supporting project managers throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring accurate financial management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis for fleet and equipment, including trend analysis and true cost evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the BU GM to develop and manage the budget, reforecasting as necessary.
  • Oversee electric operation financials, including budgeting, monthly reporting, and project analysis.
  • Assist with bid preparation and Work In Progress (WIP) reporting.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to management.
  • Establish and maintain a system of internal controls.
  • Interact with project managers and business unit managers to manage objectives, goals, and performance.
  • Define and review the timeline for Business Unit financial reporting with the CFO.
  • Produce and analyze financial reports, prepare quarterly forecasts, and monitor capital expenditure budgets.
  • Ensure accurate project management within the ERP system and support project managers during the estimate-to-completion review.
  • Monitor overheads and manpower costs, and track investment budgets and equipment.
  • Contribute to the daily operations and development of the Business Unit.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Project Management.
  • Extensive experience in cost analysis, trend analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in financial analysis, reconciliation, project management, financial statement reporting, and cost accounting.
  • Strong background in the industrial construction industry, commercial fleet operations, or related fields.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a fully in-office role based in New Windsor, NY. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to senior management and work closely with the Business Unit General Manager. The role involves collaboration with the GL Accounting team and focuses on fleet and electric business units. The company offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to move into other divisions and grow within the organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
