The Rocket Science Group is a co-development game studio specialising in multiplayer, platform services, publishing technology, and live operations for PC, console, and mobile titles.
We have teams in Europe and North America and work in partnership with the game industry’s top creators.
About the Role
We're looking for a meticulous and trustworthy Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with monthly reporting. You'll play a key part in keeping our finances organized and audit-ready.
This is a flexible role perfect for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-driven environment and wants to contribute to a growing business without taking on a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
Record day-to-day financial transactions (invoices, receipts, payments, reimbursements, etc.)
Categorize and reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare monthly financial reports (e.g., P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Assist with payroll processing and tax filings (if applicable)
Coordinate with external accountants for tax season and other financial matters
Maintain orderly digital financial records
Recommend process improvements and flag financial anomalies
Requirements
Respect of privacy and discretion
Proven experience as a bookkeeper (preferably 2+ years)
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar)
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong communication skills
Bonus Points
Experience with startups, creative agencies, or consulting businesses
Familiarity with Slack
Basic understanding of financial forecasting and budgeting
Love of video games
Schedule
~4–8 hours/week

The compensation for this role is typically within the range of $25.00-$35.00 per hour. Please note that this range includes multiple levels of experience and actual pay will ultimately be contingent upon a variety of factors, including your own combination of experience, skills, and qualifications.
