Job Title: Translator-InterpreterJob DescriptionThe Translator-Interpreter responsibilities will include reading, understanding, proofreading, and translating the context of given material both in English and Japanese. The role requires attention to detail and fluency in both languages. This position will also entail a variety of administrative tasks under the direction of the HR Department. The candidate must possess the ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently and independently, plan their schedule, and meet deadlines while maintaining confidentiality with respect to the HR Department.Responsibilities• Read, understand, proofread, and translate context of given material in English and Japanese.• Translate text and audio from one language to the other for individuals and groups.• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translations.• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.• Follow up with internal and external clients to ensure the translation meets their needs.• Assist in the training of employees; communicate and translate written and/or verbal messages.• Assist HR in communications and employment activities.• Respond to incoming calls and front lobby visitors, directing inquiries to the appropriate place.• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, assist HR with various tasks and projects, and other duties as assigned.Essential Skills• Proven work history as a translator, interpreter, or similar role.• Fluency in Japanese and English.• Excellent communication, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.• Time management skills.• Administrative experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.• Experience in the manufacturing industry.Work EnvironmentThis position will be at a front desk in an open lobby area, greeting people as they scan the door to come in and visiting with executives in meetings to help translate.
