Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement. Effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and participation.
  • Equip students with the skills necessary to meet clinical & lab requirements and excel in real-world settings.
  • Identify students' strengths, learning styles, and areas for growth.
  • Develop and implement tailored remediation plans to address individual needs.
  • Build student confidence and competence in preparing for the NCLEX-PN exam, ensuring readiness for licensure and practice.
  • Collaborate with other course team members, including class, clinical, and lab instructors teaching the same subject to promote consistency in teaching and learning which will lead to student success.
  • Maintain accurate records, submit grades and reports promptly, and uphold college academic and attendance policies.
  • Stay current with nursing practices and teaching methodologies through continuous professional development, seminars, and participation in departmental activities.

Education:

  • Bachelorette (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years as a Registered Nurse with recent clinical practice or teaching experience.
  • Academic experience in a school of nursing with a proven track record of successful nursing instruction.

Licensure: Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
