Verification Systems Engineer

Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking a full-time Principal Systems Engineer to help guide and determine the verification approach for our Systems Engineering team as it incorporates Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies to support the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System (SWS) program. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, good at planning, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.This position is responsible for working closely with numerous engineering teams supporting the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office, specifically performing the following functions:• Establishing verification strategy and approach• Leading verification reviews of system requirements• Developing and maintaining a Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix (RVTM)• Engaging with community IPTs / Working Groups / Communities of Practice• Attending customer staff meetings and meeting frequently with the customer technical leads• Supporting Systems Engineering technical reviews• Mentoring junior engineersRequired Education, Experience, & Skills• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field, and 6 years of related/relevant work or a Master's Degree and 4 years of related/relevant work• Model Based Systems Engineering experience including Cameo/SysML and DOORS/DXL• Experience spanning the SE Lifecycle with an emphasis on integration, verification, and validation.• Experience with broad array of engineering tools / languages including No Magic Products, PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS , SysML, J AVA, and/or MATLAB Simulink.• Willingness to travel to DC weekly• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams• Proficiency in Microsoft Office toolsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills• Preferred education/experience for a candidate would be bachelor's degree in systems engineering and 8 years of related/relevant work or a Master's Degree in system's engineering and 6 years of related/relevant work• Model Based Systems Engineering experience including DOORS/DXL and Cameo/SysML• Experience within the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Strategic Weapon Systems• Management Professional (PMP) certification Associate Systems• Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) INCOSE certificationPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
