About Beam

Beam is building the financial operating system for construction businesses. Our goal is to accelerate the development of housing and infrastructure by empowering builders with better financial tools and services. Our product helps SMB and mid-market contractors manage project budgets, pay bills, send invoices, accept online payment, stay compliant, and more.

You’ll be joining our fully in-person team located in a beautiful office in the Financial District in San Francisco. We are backed by Accel, Zigg Capital, Susa, Wischoff Ventures, as well as executives at fintechs and constructions businesses like Stripe and Toll Brothers. Team members were early employees at Stripe, Robinhood, Parafin, Pipe, Belong, and more.

What you’ll do

Share Beam and our customer’s stories with the world

As our first marketing hire, you’ll work cross-functionally to build our brand, engage with the construction community, and increase awareness of our solution. You’ll be responsible for creating/managing marketing campaigns, our online presence, and our collateral across web, events, product, and more. As the business grows, you’ll have opportunities to hire, train, and manage a growing marketing team.

On any given day, you might

  • Work with our designer or agencies to iterate on our brand and visual assets

  • Create and manage marketing/advertising campaigns

  • Iterating on our positioning and messaging

  • Planning and executing product launches

  • Manage our social media presence

  • Improve our SEO/SEM using new technologies and/or writing content

  • Making strategic changes to our marketing website

  • Customer segmentation and market research

  • Interview customers and develop content like testimonials

  • Attend trade shows and industry events

What you need

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing at a technology company or similar

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A bias towards process to track and improve performance

  • A bias towards using using systems/tools to increase efficiency

  • An entrepreneurial and scrappy mindset: a self-starter able to thrive in ambiguity

Nice to have

  • Experience in performance marketing

  • Experience at a high-growth tech company

  • Experience or excitement around construction and/or SMBs

  • A data driven and/or analytical mindset

  • Strong visual/design skills

Compensation

  • We offer competitive cash compensation (starting at $90k-$125k annually) as well as meaningful equity
