About The Team: The Product team is responsible for delivering best-in-class insurance products that meet the needs of small business customers across Australia and New Zealand. We partner with insurers, technology, compliance, analytics, customer, and operations teams to build, maintain and improve a wide range of commercial insurance products - ensuring they are compliant, competitive, and easy to purchase.

About the Role: You will lead a group of Financial Lines products and working with the broader Product Team and reporting to the Head of Customer Acquisition & Product. You’ll provide leadership across the team and play a hands-on role in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end delivery of key initiatives. This role is ideal for a senior product specialist with strong experience in Financial Lines insurance, confident leadership capabilities, and a track record of turning strategy into execution.

Role & Responsibilities: 

Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Lead a group of Financial Lines products, managing insurer relationships, product performance, and enhancements.
  • Coordinate end-to-end product delivery, including scoping, documentation, testing, and release.
  • Use data insights and industry knowledge to inform changes and innovation.
  • Track performance metrics, reporting outcomes and recommendations.

 

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Support the Head of Customer Acquisition & Product in leading team operations, planning, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with technology, analytics, and operations teams to deliver strategic product change.
  • Support junior team members with guidance, coaching, and project oversight.

 

Compliance & Documentation

  • Collaborate with the Rick & Compliance in maintaining underwriting guidelines ensuring binder compliance across insurers.
  • Develop and update process documentation and training materials.
  • Support both internal and external audit, QA, and operational alignment

Your experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience specialising in Financial Lines insurance products, either in a broking or underwriting capacity.
  • Deep understanding of financial lines product structures and market offerings.
  • Experience leading or mentoring within teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical areas.
  • Excellent time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A passion for detail, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with tech delivery processes and product lifecycle systems.
