Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.About the role:Boston Scientific is recruiting for a public relations and external communications manager who can have a meaningful impact on the company’s growing Endoscopy business. This candidate must demonstrate a passion for communications and interdisciplinary storytelling, as well as a functional understanding of working within a regulated industry and across multiple channels to reach stakeholder audiences.As an integral member of the Corporate Communications team, the person in this role will be expected to create and execute product and disease state PR and integrated communication plans that promote key business milestones, enable global growth plans and enhance and protect the Boston Scientific brand.As the Endoscopy team is largely based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, candidates must be able to commit to working in a hybrid capacity from our Marlborough headquarters office three days per week.Your responsibilities will include:• In close partnership with marketing and corporate communications colleagues, manage integrated communication plans and advocate for new and creative ways to tell compelling stories across audiences and channels in support of Endoscopy business objectives, with a primary focus on endobariatrics.• Manage proactive public relations programming and media outreach in support of regulatory approvals, product launches, reimbursement efforts, clinical data, patient awareness and education programming and more.• Serve as a point of contact for public relations agency partner to ensure the execution of high-quality communications within budget parameters.• Advise business partners and senior leaders on communications surrounding issues management and unexpected clinical, commercial or regulatory outcomes. Implement reactive communication plans with organization and composure.• Serve as a trusted adviser to and maintain regular interactions with cross-divisional business partners in marketing, clinical, regulatory, legal, health economics and market access and investor relations.• Support media trainings to equip business leaders as insight-driven storytellers to engage and inspire internal and external stakeholders.• Collaborate with corporate communications teammates to enable cohesiveness across regional, divisional and functional communications.• Provide input regarding social media strategies and content, promoting business-specific opportunities relevant for corporate channels.• Serve as a steward of the Boston Scientific brand, evaluating proactive and reactive programming through the lens of enhancing and protecting the company’s reputation.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent.• Minimum of 7 years of relevant PR and communications experience in a corporate, agency or news-based environment, with a focus on health care (e.g., medical devices, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology). Direct to patient PR experience highly desired.• Broad experience developing and executing strategic communication plans and correlating metrics while managing competing priorities.• Strong media relations capabilities and experiences.
