GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
This position will build and maintain reporting & insights systems that support business requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in identifying solutions amidst large and complex data sets and the ability to transform insights into strategic opportunities. The role will be charged with centralizing, analyzing, and translating essential business data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will be deft at open-ended problem solving, data analysis, and interpreting results into easily digestible formats – particularly through well-organized dashboards and automated reports.
The BI Lead position requires strong data hands-on skills and experience as well as establishing close business relationships and stakeholders across the operations, manufacturing, sales and marketing organizations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead the efforts of the BI team by defining direction and applying best practices and tools.
Design, develop and maintain the reporting infrastructure using the various reporting stacks including SQL, WebFocus, and Tableau.
Lead the efforts for platform documentation, version controlling, and production releases.
Utilizes understanding of multiple data structures and sources to design, develop and implement decision support solutions, including data visualization, business intelligence, or data collection.
Conducts research and analysis of business situations to contextualize and summarize data for end users.
Examining key business data by identifying, cleaning, and providing analysis and insights.
Validating data fidelity and creating data where none currently exists.
Building dashboards, tools, and other data models to help visualize or monitor progress in areas like performance marketing, sales, ETF trading volume, and/or website engagement.
Providing ongoing data mining efforts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Generating insights and presenting findings to senior management using data visualization and presentation programs to suggest business recommendations.
Supporting ad hoc analyses and reports needed for business decisions, planning, and execution.
Project Management
Provide expertise to create project charter, scope, and requirements, initiate, plan, execute.
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and budget.
Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in math, data science, or related quantitative field
Experience:
5+ years working in a business analytics role
Advanced expertise in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS (multi-dimensional and tabular)
2+ years Project Management activities (create scope, requirements, define tasks)
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
