Job Description

Position Overview 

Canam is seeking a Sales and Preconstruction Representative to join its Sales & Preconstruction team. This is a key position that will manage the sales and preconstruction functions for Canam Buildings US Inc., a subsidiary of Canam Group. Responsibilities of this role include conducting business development activities with owners, developers, construction managers and engineering firms, consistent with business unit growth objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop a strong network of contacts with key company accounts and continually research new targeted client profiles within the Southeastern region of USA.
  • Identify opportunities and generate potential repeat structural steel package business accounts among owners and Real Estate Developers and construction managers.
  • Identify potential projects early and promote our design-assist services.
  • Travel on a regular basis to maintain and build relationships with key accounts within the construction industry.
  • Develop relationships with key partners and suppliers (erectors, misc metal fabricators, etc).
  • Obtain information required to prepare complete estimates.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team in order to provide preconstruction services and proposals to clients.
  • Obtain feedback on pricing.
  • Prepare job specific presentations.
  • Participate in SOW, price and contract terms negotiation.
  • Attend and participate in construction industry conferences, seminars, trade shows and various networking events.
  • Promote Canam products and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the construction industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of building construction combined with steel design concepts presented on architectural and engineering drawings
  • Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite software with experience using a CRM platform
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish good rapport with people

Ability to travel frequently across the territory
