Inventory Key Holder (DC)

Catbird is looking for an Inventory Key Holder to join the retail team at our store in the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, DC.


The Inventory Key Holder role is part of the store leadership team, impacting store sales through customer service and excellence in store inventory operations. Inventory Key Holders are responsible for accurately & efficiently maintaining the store’s inventory as well as; directly servicing customers, training & developing others on inventory operations, and collaborating with their Store Leadership partners to meet/exceed shared store goals. The position is full time and one weekend day availability is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, tag, and maintain inventory throughout the store and in backstock
  • Oversee and maintain an organized back of house space
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer habits, and be able to assist customers during busy times during the day 
  • Pick and pack in store pick ups as needed
  • Lead in store pick up (ISPU) communication, with customers and store BNY partners 
  • Restock merchandise on the floor daily and optimize floor space
  • Maintain store signage
  • Compile, organize and communicate inventory needs to the Area Manager &  appropriate partners
  • Communicate daily through EOD emails, priorities, results, focuses for the product of the store.
  • Check quality, quantity, and accuracy of incoming inventory
  • Perform routine checks on current inventory to ensure accurate stock levels
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks
  • Partner with store management to conduct quarterly inventory
  • Team lead role indirectly responsible for subset of store employees on the floor or as delegated by Store Manager
  • At times open/close the store as business needs dictate and in partnership with the Store Manager
