We strive for an inclusive work environment across all levels that is reflective of the available workforce in the communities we serve.Job SummarySupports activities to develop and implement regulatory and legislative decarbonization initiatives and processes to achieve CenterPoint Energy’s (CNP’s) strategies, goals, and objectives. Manages compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and maintains positive relationships with internal clients and external industry participants and governmental bodies. Reviews analysis and participates in the formulation of law, rules and policy at the state and federal level.Essential Functions• Tracks issues before regulatory and legislative bodies and helps develop documents that convey the Company’s position on issues to elected officials, government bodies and staff, and executive staff when necessary or appropriate.• Prepares or assists with preparation of regulatory filings as needed including testimony, schedules, work papers, requests for information and briefs on a timely basis and confirms compliance with all regulatory requirements.• Gathers and analyzes financial information and operating statistics and their impacts for the development of regulatory or legislative strategies.• Monitors and communicates to senior management key developments in regulatory and legislative matters that directly or indirectly impact CNP or its business environment.• Represents CNP’s interests in dealings with regional trade, industry, and professional organizations, working closely with other association participants to coordinate industry responses to key regulatory and legislative issues.• Establishes and maintains communications with members of various other CenterPoint departments.• Works with other departments relative to identifying and researching current issues or trends affecting regulatory environments.• Attends workshops and conferences to monitor regulatory proceedings to identify trends, issues, or decisions which might affect CNP's regulatory objectives.Education Description• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in regulatory related field from an accredited college or university.Experience• Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of experience in regulatory or legislative matters or related industry experience.We want you to knowBeing a part of the CenterPoint Energy team is more than a career alone.
