DESCRIPTION 


As we continue to grow, we are constantly searching for exceptional talent to be a part of our team. We are currently looking for a Head of People & Culture to join the Montreal branch of our People & Culture team on a 14-month contract. This position is a hybrid role based out of our Montreal office.


As Head of People & Culture, you will work closely with and report to our CEO and down the line, our VP of People & Culture. In this role, you will lead and implement Circle Medical’s People strategy while enhancing employee experiences across the organization. You will partner with leaders across the organization to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams who deliver on our mission and values. We’re looking for someone who can strategize and execute across all areas of the employee lifecycle, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, Performance Management, and HR Operations.


WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Strategic Improvement: Identify and implement strategic improvements to the HR department in Montreal, including process improvement, resource planning, training, and prioritizing key initiatives.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage and oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employment eligibility and verification, training, performance management, terminations, leave management and employee relations.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruiting processes, ensuring we attract top talent. Streamline hiring workflows and support hiring managers in building high-performing teams.
  • Onboarding & Development: Design and execute effective onboarding programs to set employees up for success. Lead initiatives for professional development and training to help employees thrive in their roles.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage performance review cycles, goal-setting processes, and 1:1 frameworks that promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Budget management: Partner with Finance to ensure all HR budgets are managed and met and provide additional budget planning preparation for the future to effectively manage People & Culture resources.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Oversee and administer payroll and employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and other benefits.
  • Policy Development: Create and update HR policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed. Ensure compliance with legal standards and industry best practices.
  • HR Operations & Compliance: Maintain and improve core HR processes, including compliance with Canadian employment laws, benefits administration, and employee records.
  • HR Metrics: Prepare and analyze HR metrics, providing reports that support decision-making in specified areas. Use data to inform HR strategies and improvements.
  • Employee Relations: Participate in coaching, counseling, and advising management and staff to resolve matters related to performance management, disciplinary actions and employee relations effectively.
  • Culture & engagement: Develop and implement strategies to increase innovative thought, teamwork, and merit-based career pathing within the organization, ensuring an engaging workplace.
  • Liaison: Function as the primary liaison to internal committees and working groups, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Office management; Manage office administration staff, culture engagement activities and additional People & Culture hires as the company grows locally.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR including time in relevant comparable roles of an HRBP, Senior Manager, Head of or Director of People, specifically within policy development and people management and compliance.
  • A strong understanding of relevant HR legislation, federal and local employment laws and workplace best practices to understand and navigate the right priorities for our growth stage.
  • Experience in high growth technology company

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU AN EDGE
  • Proven track record with other startups or VC funded software companies 
  • Understanding of relevant HR legislation, federal and local employment laws and workplace best practices in Quebec, Canada
  • Human Resources Professional Certification (e.g., CRHA)
  • Experience with Lattice, Slack, Rippling, Notion, Lever, and Google Suite


COMPENSATION


In alignment with our values, Circle Medical has transparent salaries based on location and output levels. 


This is a full-time, salaried position, with an annual salary of $130,000 to $165,000 CAD plus generous vacation, full medical/dental benefits.

En tant que Chef des Ressources Humaines et de la Culture d’Entreprise, vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec notre PDG et, par la suite, avec notre VP des Ressources Humaines et de la Culture d’Entreprise. Vous serez responsable de définir et de mettre en œuvre la stratégie RH de Circle Medical tout en optimisant l’expérience des employés dans toute l’organisation. Vous collaborerez avec les dirigeants pour construire, développer et retenir des équipes performantes qui soutiennent notre mission et nos valeurs. Vous interviendrez sur l’ensemble du cycle de vie des employés : Acquisition de Talents, Apprentissage et Développement, Récompenses Totales, Gestion de la Performance et Opérations RH.


CE QUE VOUS FEREZ


Amélioration stratégique: Identifier et mettre en œuvre des améliorations stratégiques au sein du département des ressources humaines à Montréal, y compris l’optimisation des processus, la planification des ressources, la formation et la priorisation des initiatives clés.

Gestion du cycle de vie des employés: Gérer et superviser tous les aspects du cycle de vie des employés, notamment le recrutement, l'intégration, l'éligibilité et la vérification de l'emploi, la formation, la gestion de la performance, les départs, la gestion des congés et les relations avec les employés.

Acquisition de talents: Superviser les processus de recrutement pour attirer les meilleurs talents. Simplifier les flux de travail liés au recrutement et soutenir les managers dans la construction d'équipes performantes.

Intégration et développement: Concevoir et exécuter des programmes d’intégration efficaces pour assurer la réussite des nouveaux employés. Diriger des initiatives de développement professionnel et de formation pour aider les employés à exceller dans leurs rôles.

Gestion de la performance: Mettre en place et gérer les cycles d'évaluation de la performance, les processus de définition d'objectifs et les cadres de suivi qui favorisent la responsabilité et l'amélioration continue.

Gestion budgétaire: Collaborer avec le service des finances pour gérer et respecter les budgets RH, tout en préparant des prévisions budgétaires supplémentaires pour optimiser les ressources en Ressources Humaines et Culture d’Entreprise.

Paie et avantages sociaux: Superviser et administrer la paie ainsi que les programmes d’avantages sociaux, y compris les assurances santé, les régimes de retraite et d'autres prestations.Développement des politiques: Créer et mettre à jour les politiques, procédures et directives RH selon les besoins. Garantir leur conformité avec les normes légales et les meilleures pratiques de l’industrie.

Opérations RH et conformité: Maintenir et améliorer les processus RH essentiels, y compris la conformité avec les lois canadiennes sur l'emploi, l'administration des avantages sociaux et la gestion des dossiers des employés.

Indicateurs RH: Préparer et analyser des métriques RH, en fournissant des rapports pour soutenir la prise de décision dans des domaines spécifiques. Utiliser les données pour orienter les stratégies et les améliorations RH.

Relations avec les employés: Participer au coaching, au conseil et à l'accompagnement de la direction et des employés pour résoudre efficacement les problèmes liés à la gestion de la performance, aux actions disciplinaires et aux relations avec les employés.

Culture et engagement: Développer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies pour favoriser l'innovation, le travail d'équipe et la progression de carrière basée sur le mérite au sein de l'organisation, tout en créant un environnement de travail motivant.

Liaison: Servir de principal point de contact pour les comités internes et les groupes de travail, en assurant une communication et une collaboration efficaces à travers l’organisation.

Gestion de bureau: Superviser le personnel administratif du bureau, les activités d’engagement culturel et les futures embauches en Ressources Humaines et Culture d’Entreprise à mesure que l’entreprise se développe localement.


QUALIFICATIONS ET EXPÉRIENCE


Plus de 5 ans d'expérience en ressources humaines, incluant des postes comparables tels que HRBP, Senior Manager, Chef ou Directeur(trice) des Ressources Humaines, avec un accent particulier sur le développement de politiques, la gestion des équipes et la conformité.

Une solide compréhension de la législation en ressources humaines, des lois fédérales et locales sur l'emploi, ainsi que des meilleures pratiques en milieu de travail, afin de définir et prioriser les besoins adaptés à notre stade de croissance.

Expérience dans une entreprise technologique en forte croissance.
