Job Description

Division/Program Summary Description:
The NYC Health Worksite Wellness Program provides wellness initiatives, programs, and resources to help health department staff live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Worksite Wellness initiatives focus on many different areas that contribute to well-being, like physical activity, healthy eating, work-life integration, general health and prevention, and mental health. Worksite Wellness offers a range of services including mental health programming, resources, and workshops on topics such as stress, burnout, and resilience.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Recruit and manages our network of wellness ambassadors and champions across worksites.
Collaborate with Employee Resource Groups to develop wellness and support programming for their members.
Assist teams with developing wellness-focused team-building and engagement sessions.
Assist with implementing and managing a wellness rewards program.
Conduct outreach at various sites to encourage participation in wellness programs and offerings.
Manage marketing and communications for the wellness team, including maintenance of our internal Wellness Hub website, and creating marketing materials to promote programs, initiatives, and resources. Collaborate and partner with vendors to provide well-being programs.
Collect data and track progress of program reach.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

The ideal candidate for this position must be a pro-active and self-motivated individual with the ability to work in teams with multiple stakeholders.

Experience with stakeholder engagement and project management.

Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.

Experience with program monitoring and evaluation.

Experience working with the public health or wellness sector.

Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop.

Strongly preferred:

Minimum of a bachelor's from an accredited college or university; MPH, MPA or related graduate degree preferred

At least 1-2 years of related engagement, outreach, and communication experience

Previous experience working in employee wellness, community health, or public health preferred

Capacity and willingness to learn organizational applications and policies.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in: (a) developing public health education programs, including identifying target populations, conducting needs assessments, designing educational materials, planning educational presentations or workshops, and evaluating health education programs; (b) presenting public health education programs; and/or (c) counseling in areas such as communicable diseases, substance abuse, assault, sexual abuse, and/or family planning; or

2. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: public health education, education, public/community health administration, public administration or business administration and one year of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.

For Assignment Level II
In addition to meeting the "Qualification Requirements" above, to be assigned to Assignment Level II, candidates must have two additional years of full-time
satisfactory experience, for a total of four years of experience for candidates with a baccalaureate degree, and two years for candidates with a master's degree.

For Assignment Level III
In addition to meeting the "Qualification Requirements" above, to be assigned to Assignment Level III, candidates must have three additional years of full-time satisfactory experience as described above, for a total of five years of experience for
candidates with a baccalaureate degree, and three years for candidates with a master's degree; at least one year of which, in either case, must have been in a
supervisory or administrative capacity.
