Compliance Analyst
Location: Hybrid in New York
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a compliance analyst in fintech or another closely regulated industry
- 1+ years of experience in transaction monitoring
- A comprehensive understanding of US Regulations and BSA/AML/OFAC controls
- Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects, related to different stakeholders, internal and external company relationships
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills, strong professional presence to support regular interactions with senior management
- Strong research and analytical skills
Bonus points:
- Sanctions screening experience in a fintech or another closely related industry
- Prior work experience in a global team environment
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Collaborate with the US Director of Compliance Operations to handle daily tasks to support our AML requirements
- Perform hands-on risk investigations/analysis and provide insights
- Use internal and external data, along with previous decisions to understand system vulnerabilities and gaps around compliance issues
- Work with R&D to automate reporting and monitoring initiatives
- Provide assistance to Risk and Compliance teams in other jurisdictions and other Melio departments as needed, and Q&A and monitoring relevant system rules and features
- Define and label any concerning patterns and rings of malicious activity in our system, and handle external reporting to financial partners
- Assess potential compliance risks of potential partnerships, and assure policies and procedures remain up to date

The Risk & Compliance Team works to protect Melio's platform and users from fraudulent, abusive and prohibited activity. We work cross functionally, with nearly every function in the company, to ensure we are seeing the correct information to make the right decisions.
