Job Description

  1. Operates all workstations/ cells and/or operation of BM Machines according to certification to produce parts in accordance with equipment specifications, SOP’s, and Work Instructions.
  2. Ensure machine vent waste and tail scrap is disposed in designated bins (BM Department Only).
  3. Ensure that equipment setup is completed in accordance with the appropriate Work Instructions, and that the First Off process is followed correctly. Complete all necessary production and quality documentation. 
  4. Monitor equipment to ensure the produced parts are in compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Quality or production concerns must be communicated to the Shift Supervisor. Perform in-process visual and instrumented inspections. Document the results as described in the Inspection Instruction and Failure Catalogue (including appearance, superficial defects, debris, shards and similar).
  5. Ensure that the operation of the production equipment is done in accordance with the daily and weekly production plans.  Notify Supervision of any significant deviations from the daily production plan immediately.
  6. Ensure that all Materials, Components, Work-in-Process, and Finished Goods are properly identified with labels, at all steps in the process.
  7. Participate in auditing processes, as required. Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  8. Maintain a clean workspace including housekeeping and cleanliness, including 5S work environment standards and communicating safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
  9. Update production information and GEMBA performance and supporting the Lead Operator as and when required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Production.

Technical Skills: Ability to complete basic data entry in computer systems as well as basic math skills. Operate all workstations in departmental area (Final Assembly, Blow Mold or Formed Extrusion). For Blow Mold Department, certification for BM Machine Training Lv. 1 required and Lv. 2 preferred or can run all stations.

Other Skills / Abilities: Must be capable of setting up production equipment to specifications, able to inspect produced parts for compliance with Quality specifications, and able to read and understand work instructions. Must be able to speak English. Good communication skills required.
