There is one current regular vacancy is in the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division located at 310 Harbor Blvd. , Belmont, CA. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Call Center administrative support duties as assigned Constantly monitor incoming and outgoing Access Call Center email groups Process internal and external referrals from regional clinics Screening referrals based on insurance for benefits and insurance services available to BHRS' clients Input client information into an Excel spreadsheet from received referrals and prepare for clinicians Organize, file, and scan multiple requests, including Service Authorizations Requests, Private... Provider Network payment authorizations, and No Contact letters Tracking Therapy Service requests into Avatar NX database Prepare and mail out Admission Packet to Call Center clients in a timely manner Competence in Microsoft Office applications, and Avatar NX database Proofread Utilization Management and Call Center letters Verifying accuracy of records, with an emphasis on details Provide coverage for Alcohol and Other Drug Services, as needed Provides excellent customer service to visitors, vendors, and clients Call Center inventory of office supplies Familiarity with office equipment; Call Center copy projects (i. e. fax machine, printer, scanner, photocopy equipment) Prepare offices and workstations for new hires Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail for staff The ideal candidate will possess: Experience working for a Call Center in a health care environment Experience processing referrals and preparing for clinicians Familiarity with Service Authorizations Requests, Private Provider Network payment authorizations, and No Contact letters Attention to detail to ensure accuracy; excellent proofreading skills Experience multi-tasking various administrative projects Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision Proficient using Avatar NX and Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered on the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills NOTE: The eligible list generated from this recruitment may be used to fill future extra-help, term, unclassified, and regular classified vacancies. Qualifications County Status: An applicant must have been a County of San Mateo employee in San Mateo County Health with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, Confidential and Management extra-help/limited term, and SEIU or AFSCME represented extra-help/term position prior to the final filing date. Knowledge of: Policies and procedures related to the department to which assigned. Office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment. Business letter writing and the standard format for typed materials. Basic business data processing principles and the use of word processing or personal computing equipment. Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Business arithmetic. Basic record keeping principles and practices. Skill/Ability to: Perform detailed office support work accurately. Compose routine correspondence from brief instructions. Operate standard office equipment, including a word processor and computer terminal. Use initiative and sound independent judgment within established guidelines. Prioritize work and coordinate several activities. Organize and maintain accurate files and records. Make accurate arithmetic calculations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Note: Specific positions may require the ability to type at a rate of 40 net words per minute from printed copy. Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. The examination process will consist of an application screening (weight: pass/fail) based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions. Candidates who pass the application screening will be invited to a panel interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification. All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination.
