We are currently looking to hire a Quality Assurance Supervisor based in our Chatsworth, California manufacturing plant! In this role, you will be responsible forSupervising day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance (QA) Department including QA Technicians and QA Leads. This position is responsible for managing the non-conforming products and equipment. This position is also responsible for developing all necessary tools for training, troubleshooting, problem elimination, and streamlining all processes within the plant.Danone North America additionally offers a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options.In this role, you will be responsible for the following:• carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws.• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and correcting employees; addressing complaints and resolving barriers to success.• Develop, implement and verify QA procedures and train.• Ensure QA Technicians are trained and proficiently performing laboratory-testing and other procedures according to SOPs and adhere to GMPs, GLPs, QFS and Safety Program.• Schedule QA Technicians for effective plant coverage.• Ensure that laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained and functioning properly. Maintain records of this activity.• Coordinate sampling and testing activities in alignment with production.• Ensure all records of testing are complete, accurate, legible, and in conformance to standard.• Take immediate action to quality deviations from standard. Notify QA Manager of such deviations.• Follow up on consumer and customer complaints.• Ensure that activities regarding FSHCP, Food Quality Plan, GMPS, GLPs and QFS are performed and documented properly.• Assist QA Manager and Compliance Supervisor with training and audit of FSSC22000.• Assist in internal housekeeping, GMP and Prerequisite Programs (PRP) audits.• Submit required reports to QA Manager and Plant Management.• Coordinate post cleaning and pre-operation inspections of equipment with the Sanitation and Operations.• Investigate and correct quality issues by identifying and resolving the root cause of quality issues, in collaboration with other departments.• Participate to develop and implement FSHCP and also be part of the FSHCP team.• Maintain appropriate inventory levels on all lab supplies and chemicals.• Provide prompt and accurate documentation as scheduled or requested.DisclaimerThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job.About YouQUALIFICATIONS:This section identifies the minimum job specifications required to perform the job.Education and Experience:• Required Degree: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology / Food Science / Chemistry, or related field• Required 3-4 years laboratory experience.• Required experience in supervising QA technicians in Food Manufacturing FacilityKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Must be an effective leader of people• Must be capable of managing business-critical functions in a calm and systematic fashion• Must be organized and analytical• Effectively perform complex data analysis• Excellent record keeping / documentation skills• Local and national travel to and from plant operations (requires valid driver's license)• Outstanding communication / presentation skills / report writing• Statistical analysis knowledge a plus• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, laboratory instrumentation, and lab equipment.
