Sprout Social is looking to hire a Database Marketing Manager to the Marketing team.

What you’ll do


  •  Own the strategy and development of innovative email and conversational marketing programs to educate prospects throughout the buying journey
  • Connect the multiple disparate systems in order to create a more holistic view of our prospect database and spearhead efforts to engage, delight, convert, and turn them into customers
  • Spearhead efforts to increase new business pipeline creation by building out segmented journeys and deploying programs to improve conversion, increase sales cycle velocity and influence pipeline creation
  • Collaborate and align across teams to turn ideas into action, leveraging tools across the Marketing tech stack to drive tangible results


What you’ll bring


Sprout is looking for a performance-minded Database Marketing Manager to join the Marketing Revenue team. You’re responsible for driving inbound trials, demos and leads and converting them to qualified pipeline and ultimately revenue. This is an opportunity to have a material impact on these metrics by optimizing our database strategy and overseeing our email and website chat channels.


The minimum qualifications for this role include:


  • 5+ years of Demand Generation, Marketing Operations or Database Marketing experience, with exposure to email and conversational marketing
  • Fluent in B2B/SaaS metrics with a keen ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to draw conclusions, drive strategy and enact change
  • 3+ Experience working within Salesforce CRM
  • 3+ Experience working within Marketing Automation, Marketo preferred


Preferred qualifications for this role include:


  • Skilled at building a consistent feedback loop to communicate marketing and revenue performance to key stakeholders
  • Able to think critically and develop creative solutions around technical or resource limitations
  • Has an insatiable curiosity to explore, test, learn, and improve


How you’ll grow


Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:


  • Learn about Sprout’s product, customers and marketing funnel
  • Partner with Revenue Marketing leadership to set initial priorities and align on expectations for your role
  • Work with Demand Generation and Marketing Operations to understand past and present email marketing initiatives
  • Meet with other key partners in operations, sales, design, development, and content to learn about the scope of their work and areas of opportunity


Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:


  • Audit and understand our current database audience, email segmentation capabilities, and ongoing nurture flows
  • Begin running tests in Marketo and identify optimizations with input from teams across the marketing and sales orgs
  • Start to build a framework for a long-term, high-converting email strategy to nurture leads into customers
  • Evaluate conversational marketing as a potential lever for future pipeline growth


Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:


  • Have a strong handle on the most important conversion points in our Marketing and Sales lifecycle and a developed perspective on levers we can pull to improve them
  • Create, build, test, and optimize automated and triggered email programs that support the progression of leads through the buying journey and fuel pipeline growth
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on strategy and execution for one-off campaigns centered around lead conversion, pipeline creation, and revenue attainment
  • Measure and report on performance of ongoing email marketing initiatives


Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:


  • Have tested, failed, learned and applied new tactics into our marketing arsenal
  • Continue to find new ways to educate and delight prospects
  • Consistently measure, analyze, and communicate database marketing performance
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization to improve buying experience throughout the marketing funnel
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.


The base pay range for this role is $105,000 - $136,000 USD annually. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In addition to base pay, some Sales and Success roles can earn sales incentives. 


Sprout’s compensation ranges are intentionally broad to allow for our team members' growth within their role. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.


Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
