CDL Lead Highway Technician

As a CDL Lead Highway Technician at DCS, you will be responsible for leading crews in highway maintenance activities. This includes operating heavy highway equipment, cleaning and grading ditches and drainage structures, repairing fences and signs, and ensuring proper litter and debris removal. You will also assist in emergency responses and participate in storm cleanup to maintain safe road conditions.

To qualify for the position of CDL Lead Highway Technician at DCS, you must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a Commercial Driver’s License Class A with a clean motor vehicle record for three years. Strong leadership skills, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and experience operating highway maintenance equipment are essential for succeeding in this role.

DCS prefers candidates with experience in highway maintenance or construction, as well as prior experience with the Department of Transportation (DOT). Experience operating skid steers and dump trucks is also advantageous, as these skills will directly contribute to your success as a CDL Lead Highway Technician.
