We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud FinOps Transaction Manager to oversee and optimize cloud financial operations across OCI and GCP environments. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud cost management, procurement strategies, and financial reporting to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of cloud resources. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience negotiating cloud contracts, and the ability to collaborate with technical and business teams to align cloud spending with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cloud Financial Management
o Analyze and optimize cloud spending for OCI and GCP environments, ensuring alignment with budgetary and operational objectives.
o Implement and maintain FinOps best practices, including chargeback, showback, and cost allocation strategies.
o Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses for cloud consumption.
• Procurement & Contract Negotiations
o Lead contract negotiations with cloud providers, focusing on cost savings, pricing models, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
o Evaluate Reserved Instances, Committed Use Discounts, and other pricing programs to maximize cost efficiency.
o Establish relationships with cloud vendors and manage ongoing procurement activities.
• Cost Monitoring & Optimization
o Set up and maintain tools for real-time cloud cost monitoring and alerting.
o Identify and eliminate wasteful spending, such as unused or underutilized resources.
o Recommend rightsizing, autoscaling, and architectural changes to optimize costs while maintaining performance.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
o Partner with engineering, DevOps, and finance teams to develop and implement cost management policies.
o Provide detailed reporting and insights on cloud costs to senior leadership and business units.
o Educate teams on FinOps principles and foster a culture of financial accountability.
• Governance & Compliance
o Ensure adherence to organizational policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements in cloud spending.
o Develop and enforce governance frameworks for multi-cloud environments, including tagging and billing hierarchies.
o Monitor and manage cloud-related risks, including budget overruns and unexpected cost spikes.
• Reporting & Metrics
o Develop dashboards and reports to track key metrics, such as cost per resource, cost per service, and cost per application.
o Use analytics to identify trends and provide actionable insights to optimize cloud resource utilization.
o Present financial updates, ROI analyses, and optimization recommendations to leadership teams.
• Technical Expertise:
o Deep knowledge of OCI and GCP pricing models, services, and tools for cost management (e.g., GCP Cost Management, OCI Budgets).
o Experience with FinOps tools like CloudHealth, Apptio, Cloudability, or native cloud cost management tools.
o Strong understanding of multi-cloud environments, hybrid architectures, and resource tagging strategies.
• Analytical & Financial Skills:
o Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting for cloud environments.
o Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
o Experience with cost-saving strategies such as reserved capacity planning, spot instances, and workload scheduling.
• Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in cloud financial operations, procurement, or related fields.
o Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar cloud budgets.
o Hands-on experience with both OCI and GCP platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner certification.
• Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks like ITIL or COBIT.
• Proficiency in using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for cloud financial reporting.
