Senior Data Scientist (Logistics, Service)

We are on the lookout for a Senior Data Scientist (NLP) - Logistics, Service (all genders) to join our team to help us create outstanding customer service products using NLP, machine learning and generative AI.

You will join the Service Data Science squad on our mission to automate and optimize interactions with customers, making sure they have a high quality experience which scales as our business grows. We pride ourselves on our ability to connect research and theory to practical problems, and to bring our solutions to production systems. The squad is supported by an amazing team of ML Engineers who build reusable tooling, so our Data Scientists are able to focus on solving the modelling challenges. We also integrate closely with product teams so that we keep connected to the needs of the organization.

Your mission:

• Conceptualize the right modelling approach for challenges in the field of Customer Service at scale, together with your squad lead and our stakeholders, using cutting-edge research to inform your decisions

• Build solutions end-to-end from inception to production-grade systems - including research & prototyping, gathering data requirements, cross-team alignment, product development, experimentation, deployment and monitoring.

• Contribute and make an impact in a global, fast-moving tech organization.

• You have 5+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist in industry, or in equivalent academic roles

• You have experience applying machine learning or statistical methods to real-world datasets and a proven track record of delivering data science solutions to production systems.

• You are familiar with classical NLP and NLU problems, such as text classification, summarisation, translation, NER and speech-to-text.

• You are familiar with libraries such as HF Transformers, SpaCY, pytorch or JAX, as well as gen-ai tooling such as llama.cpp, langchain or similar. You also understand typical Generative AI model architectures such as transformers, VAE or GANs, frameworks such as  Retrieval Augmented Generation, and are familiar with finetuning methods such as LORA.

• You are fluent in Python, and familiar with a range of scientific and statistical libraries. Other languages are a bonus!

• You have a strong working knowledge of AB testing, and experience of designing and analysing experiments to inform the development of products

• You have experience with a range of software engineering tools including Git, Docker, cloud technologies (GCP/AWS), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and pipeline tools such as Metaflow.

• You write maintainable code that follows best practices in software engineering.

• You are fluent in English.
