Talent by Deloitte (Africa Talent) is a competency center formed between Deloitte Africa and Deloitte North South Europe. Climate change is widely recognised to be a major global issue, requiring urgent corporate and governmental action in terms of emissions reductions and rapid decarbonisation leading up to 2050. As a consultant, you will help shape the Sustainability
practice by sharing your risk management, GHG accounting and industry experience across a diverse range of clients, helping our clients navigate the energy transition and meet their decarbonization priorities. In addition to working on client projects, you will support in preparing proposals, client meetings workshops, research and articles. Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainability and looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We are seeking a highly motivated graduates to join our team at Africa Talent by Deloitte. As an entry graduate, you will support our Sustainability practice by participating in client projects, research and delivery of assurance, with an aim to help companies on their journey towards compliance with CSRD and other ESG regulations. It requires you to evolve your familiarity with the ESG reporting regulatory environment and assurance standards, while bringing innovative ideas and solutions to our clients that will truly make an impact on their business and society as a whole. Your contribution will allow immense personal growth, while helping the sustainability practice evolve to meet the future needs of our clients.

What will you do?

You will have the opportunity to work directly with engagement teams delivering unique solutions to clients as you bring your ideas, creativity and passion for excellence as you make an impact that matters:

• supporting clients in navigating through the evolving landscape of legislation and frameworks on sustainability an integrated reporting (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, etc.).

• assisting clients in developing a compliant, yet value-driven reporting framework (i.e. conducting CSRD gap assessments, double materiality assessments, developing KPIs, obtaining and improving ESG ratings.

• participating in discussions with the team members and clients, identifying ESG impacts, risks and opportunities and developing supporting materials to facilitate through the project phases.

• analyzing and progressing both quantitative ESG data sets as well as qualitative targets, policies, and action plan.

• providing direct support to assurance teams in assessing the compliance of the disclosed information with ESG reporting standards

• contributing to external and internal meetings with professional and structured overviews (e.g. email, PowerPoint decks, Excel factsheets etc.).

Qualifications

If you are currently completing or have completed the following qualifications and have less than 6 consecutive months of work experience, or have no work experience, we would love to hear from you:

• Bachelors degree in business and sustainability

• Engineering degree including a masters combining business and sustainability

• Any other relevant degree is advantageous

• A postgraduate or masters qualification in any of the above streams is advantageous

Experience

• No previous work experience required

• Demonstrates an interest and passion for understanding the sustainability landscape and its applicability in the world of business.
