Apply via Dice today!Location: Hopkins, MNSalary: $115,000.00 USD Annually - $125,000.00 USD AnnuallyDescription:Electrical Engineer - HardwareLocation:Onsite in Hopkins, MNPosition Overview:We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a hardware focus to join our client's IoT Solutions team. This role involves defining product specifications, designing schematics and PCB layouts, building, testing, and validating prototypes, and supporting manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with the lead firmware engineer throughout the R&D process, from concept to post-launch, ensuring regulatory compliance (UL, FCC) and product reliability.Key Responsibilities:• Contribute to and support the electronic circuitry and hardware aspects of the new EMC Life Safety IoT product.• Design electronic circuitry and hardware for future products.• Develop and modify systems to meet product specifications and goals.• Collaborate with the firmware engineer in selecting embedded microcontrollers and other electronic hardware components.• Participate in value engineering projects.• Design and implement embedded microcontrollers, interface components, and connectors.• Design and implement AC/DC power supply modules and DC/DC regulators.• Ensure systems achieve regulatory compliance (UL, FCC).• Optimize systems for noise immunity.• Develop schematics and PCB layouts using EDA/CAD software tools.• Participate in project scoping and planning.• Build, test, troubleshoot, and document prototypes and beta-site units.• Work with cross-functional teams to address pre-launch and post-launch issues.• Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.Qualifications:• Proficiency in electrical/electronic hardware design for microcontroller-based embedded systems.• Expertise in developing schematics and PCB layouts using CAD software tools.• Experience in launching high-quality electronics IoT products.• Ability to design, develop, test, and debug C/C++ code (experience with NXP MCU tools is a plus).• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering• 5+ years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering with R&D and new product development.Preferred Experience:• Knowledge of lighting, electrical, and LED technologies.• Understanding of communication protocols such as LoRa, BLE, etc.Contact:This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
