Role Overview

As Director, Regional Development you will be primarily responsible for strengthening and growing client relationships and targeting new business opportunities for your studio or office. To excel in this demanding role, a minimum of 10 years of client facing business development experience within the A/E or related industry is required. Key Job Functions

  • Participate in the business planning process to define goals and objectives along with a marketing, business development, and BD strategy to achieve defined goals.
  • Establish milestones for studio/office growth and compare with competitor and industry trends. Actively participate in the business planning process to inform business plan goals and objectives as well as local studio sales budget for conferences and events, sponsorships and memberships needed as part of the larger BD strategy.
  • Pursue effective client engagement by developing comprehensive client profiles, client engagement strategies, lead development of presentation materials and establish client meetings and maintain a master client contact list.
  • Develop a client-focused conference strategy and maintain a key presence at conferences and events relative to your business plan. Proactively identify speaking opportunities for studio leaders and share conference insights.
  • Identify professional organizations and participation strategies to secure committee roles for key team members and participate in at least two real estate focused professional organizations that align with the studio business plan.
  • Continuously collaborate with the national development director, your business development counterparts in other offices and marketing, as well as PR consultants as needed. Share market insights with the company to inform business development and marketing strategies.
  • Coach studio leaders throughout the customer journey; identify skills to be developed; key strengths, and strategies for improvement.
  • Grow and maintain a professional network aligned with business development strategy. Use a gate system to manage leads, opportunities and bids.
  • Adhere to KTGY’s standardized best practices for workflow and client engagement. Use our structured client management system to engage clients and solicit feedback. Actively manage the sales pipeline and update targets based on performance.
  • Use a Go/No Go system to mitigate risk to KTGY.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across geographies, disciplines, leadership levels and with a wide range of personalities and working styles.
  • Proven experience using CRM as a value-add tool.
  • Advanced proficiency using the following software:
    • MS Office
    • Adobe Suite

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a business development capacity within the A/E/C industry, preferably for a multi-disciplinary national architecture firm.
  • Undergraduate degree in related field.

The wage range that the Company expects to pay is $140,000 - $160,000.
