Job Description

Process engineering position focused on the manufacturing of the Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) photocathode structure. Responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to reduce defects in the growth structures, minimize cost, and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Working with Operations group to manage process improvement, defect analysis, and technician training.
  • Working in cross functional team settings to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, and productivity problems.
  • Conducting failure analysis of components to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Increase image intensifier performance (Photoresponse, spectral response, etc.) as part of cross-functional team.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • 3 years of technical experience or academic research in thin film deposition or related field
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and SPC
  • Proficiency with designing structured experimentation
  • Ability to work and collaborate well with others with a range of technical capabilities from process operators to production supervisors to engineering colleagues

Preferred:

  • Experience with Aixtron deposition systems
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience writing complex MS Access queries
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software; Minitab, JMP, SAS…
  • Ability to collaborate with all facets of the Night Vision organization
  • Comfortable with self-initiating business and professional improvements
  • Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale
