Senior Master HVAC Technician - Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune

Senior Master HVAC Technician on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Specializing in commercial HVAC, the Senior Technician performs advanced-level maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems, including multi-ton chillers, in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the Technician to have extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The ideal EMI Senior Master HVAC Technician is EPA Universal Certified and has the skill level to make repairs on a variety of systems.

Salary

$43.26 to $46.60/ hr. DOE plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on Air-cooled chillers, pumps and water systems, and VRF systems
  • Automated Building Controls:
    • test input & output for voltage on building systems sensors/activators
  • Work on units:
    • split package, residential style, and up to light commercial, mini-splits, VAV’s and AHU
  • Use a multi-meter to check voltage lamp
  • Use a torch for brazing
  • Prepare work orders and cost materials estimates
  • Help teach and guide Technician I


Essential Skills

  • Work independently, a self-starter
  • Read schematic diagrams
  • Understand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategies
  • Advanced troubleshooting and mechanical knowledge of various HVAC units
  • PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment
    • Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of ADAVANCED experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of COMMERCIAL heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License
  • HVAC I course or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid DL compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • OVERTIME- Available evenings & weekends
  • US citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
