Job Description

The People & Culture Business Partner will be responsible for providing support, leadership, and oversight of People Services activities for assigned EQX clubs within the Los Angeles market. This role reports directly to the People & Culture Regional Director and will have a heavy presence within the local Los Angeles clubs while also working from a regional office.

The People & Culture Business Partner is a strategic business partner who helps the region achieve its goals by being an advocate, change leader, and champion for inspiring achievement in our employee teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading internal workplace investigations and shaping the employee experience to mitigate risk, solve conflict, and contribute to improving relationships across the Equinox club team (30-50%)
  • Scale club leadership: action planning and talent assessments (15-20%)
  • Execute corporate programs and other initiatives developed by the central People & Culture team (15 – 20%)
  • Coach club management: day-to-day development of people manager skills and competencies (10 – 15%)
  • Gauge the club atmosphere, escalating key themes and necessary incidents through meaningful and established feedback loops (10%)
  • Synthesize and escalate key themes from across club team to Employee Relations Team Lead.
  • Generate HR data reports as necessary

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in employee relations/generalist HR.  Experience supporting a large, multi-site field population preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, persuasion, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Established assessment and decision-making skills with proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in dealing with complex employee relations issues (EEO, FLSA, etc.) Ability to solve conflicts in a positive and fair manner. 
  • Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills.  Ability to set priorities and organize time. Demonstrates initiative and can work independently. 
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and personable.  Has ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high standards. Willingness to travel to field locations within assigned region.
  • Ability to travel to within the Los Angeles market on an as needed basis.

Pay Transparency: $90k - $105k annually.
