Job Description

  • Coordinate and facilitate instruction in an orderly and professional manner
  • Ensure that clients complete and turn in assignments as scheduled
  • Maintain individual schedules for clients preparing for exams such as TASC
  • Maintain client's assessments in files and client database
  • Complete case notes on a weekly and as needed basis
  • Facilitate customized workshops as well as contextualized literacy workshops to provide clients with the tools needed for a successful job search
  • Discuss sector specific needs and industry standards
  • Plan, organize, and direct the provision of all training activities in alignment with HRA and other requirements
  • Assist clients with identifying specific employers, skills and programs to reach their career goals
  • Collect client time sheets and ensure accurate reporting of client attendance weekly
  • Evaluate the success of training and development programs; amend and revise programs, as necessary to ensure quality goals are met

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Art in Education or Social Service field, three to five years of experience in training, education or career development in the workforce development field career counseling or a combination of relevant course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interact with diverse individuals including those in specialized populations, and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience in a fast-paced, team environment that is performance driven
  • Exceptional customer service and engagement skills; prefer training or experience in motivational interviewing and care management techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Experience with publicly-funded programs; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families experience preferable
  • Experience in assessing the need for and making reasonable accommodations for customers
  • Knowledge of laws and regulatory requirements related to program responsibilities
  • Ability to use various electronic systems to carry out duties and responsibilities
