Intern, Cell Line Development

Job Description

Just is seeking a motivated and creative intern who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics.  Seeking a motivated candidate to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to develop Cell Line Development processes for low-cost biotherapeutic manufacturing.  The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of chemistry, biochemistry, and cell biology as well as an understanding of molecular biology techniques such as PCR. Previous lab experience a plus. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills, works well independently and in teams, and constantly looks for ways to improve processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a mentor to develop new cell lines and processes for use in biotherapeutic manufacturing
  • Contribute as a team member to shared responsibilities, including general laboratory upkeep
  • End of internship presentation to the scientific staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards a BS in Engineering, Biochemistry or related field
  • Excellent experimental design and analysis skills

Pluses:

  • Experience with and understanding PCR and dPCR
  • Experience practicing sterile technique and culturing cells.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization software (e.g. JMP, Tableau, Geneious Prime)

Note: This is a paid 12 week fixed-term internship located onsite at our Seattle facility. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship, benefits or relocation for internships. The pay for this position is $25.00 per hour.
